Overview
Cardiff Council’s Community Wellbeing Strategy Team is seeking to appoint a Corporate Trainee – Social Media and Web Content. This role is based at Libraries Stacks and Stock Support, Unit 1B/1C, Dominions Way, Newport Road, Cardiff, CF24 1RF. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering engaging and informative content across the Dementia Friendly Cardiff, Age Friendly Cardiff, Neurodivergent Friendly Cardiff, and Care’Diff (unpaid carers) programmes.
About the Job
As a Corporate Trainee, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain experience in a local government environment by:
- Updating websites
- Working across Council departments including Bilingual Cardiff, the Web Team, and Corporate Communications
- Collaborating with partner organisations such as Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team, Alzheimer’s Society, South Wales Police, and Vale of Glamorgan Council
- Supporting the delivery of events
You will receive on-the-job training and supervision to help you provide an efficient and customer-focused service. Support will also be provided by your manager and a named mentor to encourage the development of transferable skills for your career progression.
This role does not include weekend working.

- This post is not suitable for job share.
- The post is temporary for 6 months if worked full time, or longer if part time. Most roles are based on a 37-hour week, with part-time options available.
