Overview
Manchester Metropolitan University is offering an exciting opportunity for current students enrolled at the School of Digital Arts (SODA) to join as a Digital Content Creator for Manchester Psych Fest. This role is open only to students based in the UK for the duration of the internship. The position involves creating motion, video, and animation content to support one of the UK’s leading inner-city music festivals.
About the Role
Manchester Psych Fest is a multi-venue music and arts festival held in Manchester city centre on Saturday 5th September 2026. The festival features over 60 live acts, DJs, art installations, food, and films across venues including Manchester Academy, Albert Hall, O2 Ritz, Projects Skate Park, Gorilla, YES, and The Deaf Institute. It is an independent, community-driven event with a strong commitment to gender equality and creative expression.
Key Responsibilities
- Create motion, video, and animation content to bring festival assets to life.
- Implement your own style and branding stamp within the festival’s visual identity.
- Work flexibly around your studies and other commitments, with some tasks subject to time constraints.
- Potentially contribute remotely to the sister event, Edinburgh Psych Fest.
Essential Criteria
- Current enrolment at Manchester Met’s School of Digital Arts (SODA).
- Keen interest in the festival, music, and art.
- High organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Professional conduct with awareness of confidentiality and sensitive issues.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills.
Desirable Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
- Animation skills to bring art to life.
- Experience with physical or digital installation builds.
