Boulders, an indoor bouldering wall in Cheltenham, is seeking a Social Media Expert for a 6-week freelance project to help grow its visibility and attract new audiences. The facility is a welcoming, inclusive community space where people of all abilities come together through climbing. This short-term project aims to transform Boulders’ social presence into an authentic, engaging window into its community — appealing to adults in the Cheltenham and Gloucestershire area who are curious about bouldering or seeking a social, alternative fitness experience.
Key Focus Areas
Social Strategy & Planning
- Develop a full social media strategy, including content direction, posting frequency, and platform priorities.
- Advise on content mix, tone of voice, and how to communicate Boulders’ welcoming, inclusive values.
- Align all activity with project goals of awareness, engagement, and community storytelling.
Content Creation & Scheduling
- Capture high-quality photo and video content on-site at the Cheltenham facility.
- Deliver authentic, story-driven content that highlights Boulders’ members, community spirit, and beginner experiences.
- Manage the editorial calendar and oversee scheduling and posting to Instagram.
- Focus on creating content that converts the feed into an engaging “shop window” for potential new climbers.
Storytelling & Engagement
- Interview community members to share real stories and personal experiences.
- Showcase beginner journeys, tips, and “what to expect” content for newcomers.
- Capture behind-the-scenes moments that convey the inclusive, social nature of the Boulders community.
Target Audience
- Adults aged 18+ in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.
- Individuals seeking an alternative to traditional gyms.
- People interested in social, community-oriented fitness activities.
- Beginners curious about trying bouldering for the first time.
Project Goals
