The Opportunity
EY’s Global Media Relations and Social Media team supports the firm’s purpose to build a better working world by enhancing EY’s brand, reputation, and business goals worldwide. The Assistant Director, Social Media is a senior and experienced role within this team, responsible for creating and executing social media strategy, plans, and programmes aligned with EY’s purpose and business objectives.
This role involves close collaboration with EY’s Global executive leadership, developing real-time and planned content, advocating for digital PR/social media internally, and supporting various leader and corporate social channels. The ideal candidate is organised, proactive, energetic, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects while engaging senior stakeholders and colleagues across brand, marketing, and communications.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement social media strategy and programmes; lead social media planning and manage social channels
- Collaborate with EY Global leaders and internal teams to develop editorial strategy and build content to grow and activate communities
- Mentor and guide global leaders, media relations and social media teams, and other stakeholders on innovations and trending content
- Create, plan, curate, and manage all content types (images, video, written) to reach target audiences
- Lead by example with a positive attitude, working collaboratively and keeping senior management informed of issues or concerns
- Monitor, listen to, and respond to social communities
- Develop and expand social communities and social media efforts
- Support stakeholders with design and creation of compelling content, taking the lead where possible
- Apply best practices to measure the impact of social media campaigns
- Collaborate with PR, paid media, marketing teams, and stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and brand, marketing, and communications teams
- Work across time zones and communicate regularly with the EY global PR network regarding upcoming initiatives
- Communicate clearly across all deliverables, including stakeholder communications and measurement reports
- Act as an ambassador for BMC in all internal and external engagements
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Ability to advise on social media technologies and data-driven insights
- Drive to promote innovation in social media and to sell ideas internally
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to produce excellent, engaging copy quickly and under pressure
- Sub-editing and proofreading skills, with adherence to style and brand guidelines
- Experience writing for web and social media on mainstream channels
- Familiarity with Boolean search techniques
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, participants, and deployment strategies
- Energetic self-starter with a hands-on approach and positive attitude
- Strong team player and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually, and independently
- Experience advising, managing, and communicating with senior leadership daily
- Ability to deliver quality output under pressure and meet deadlines
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing situations
Qualifications
- 5-10 years’ B2B social media experience, preferably with digital or social media agency expertise and in-house experience
- People management experience, including managing senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage complex global processes and projects
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong digital media execution skills
- Experience managing internal support networks
- Experience working with a global brand
