Overview

Are you a content dynamo with a passion for storytelling and a knack for strategy? As our Content Lead at TalkTalk, you will spearhead our content revolution—creating, curating, and amplifying stories and campaigns that captivate both new and existing customers. This role involves close collaboration with social, SEO, and visual creator teams to ensure our brand consistently shines across all platforms.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of a bold and creative content strategy to enhance TalkTalk’s presence and appeal across various digital platforms and third parties.
  • Plan, create, and commission a diverse range of content including blogs, articles, videos, infographics, guides, and customer stories that vividly bring our brand to life.
  • Own and manage the content calendar, ensuring a steady flow of fresh, relevant, and brand-aligned material across all channels.
  • Collaborate closely with social, SEO/PPC, creative, and Corporate Communications teams to ensure all content is discoverable, shareable, visually engaging, and optimized for search.
  • Use analytics and insights to identify content gaps, spot trends, and optimize performance, always aiming to surprise and delight our audiences.
  • Champion TalkTalk’s tone of voice, ensuring consistency and uniqueness in every piece of content across all touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with Product, Commercial, and Customer teams to transform business priorities and product launches into compelling content campaigns.
  • Monitor content performance using data to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate ROI.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging content formats to bring fresh ideas to the table.
  • Deputise for the Head of Brand & Digital Marketing as needed.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, continually seeking new ways to tell our story and engage our community.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of content marketing and digital storytelling’s impact on brand building.
  • Familiarity with SEO, social media, and visual content best practices.
  • Awareness of the telecoms, utilities, or other consumer-facing sectors is beneficial.
Skills:
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and creative briefing skills, adept at both strategizing and executing.
  • Strategic thinker with a flair for big ideas and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple campaigns and deadlines.
  • Confident in collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Comfortable using analytics tools to measure and optimise content performance.
  • Able to inspire and lead creative contributors.
Experience:
  • Proven experience in content marketing, journalism, or digital communications.
  • Track record of delivering successful content campaigns that drive engagement and business results.
  • Experience working with SEO, social, and creative teams.
  • Experience managing content calendars and editorial workflows.
