Overview

This position is part of our Creative & Media craft, combining data, technology, creative content, and paid media to solve brands’ business challenges and drive revenue through innovative digital marketing solutions. We plan, create, and execute a variety of world-class campaigns, ranging from culture-led, social-first content to award-winning integrated creative campaigns built on data-led strategies and insights. Our clients include Just Eat Takeaway, Victoria’s Secret, TikTok, The White Company, Meta, Pepsico, EasyJet, and many more.

Job Purpose

At DEPT, we take pride in the award-winning creative campaigns and content we produce for a range of exciting and well-known brands. Our Media Team, comprising both paid and organic media specialists, is pivotal to the success of these campaigns. We are currently seeking a Social Analyst to join the team.

The Social Analyst will collaborate across multiple teams to deliver robust social media data and insights aimed at enhancing campaign performance and shaping effective strategies for our clients. This role requires close cooperation with clients, creative teams, technology teams, and account management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop reports delivering accurate results in a timely manner, outlining KPIs aligned with client objectives.
  • Manage and manipulate data in Google Sheets, using formulas to improve workflow efficiency and automate data sets where possible.
  • Deliver insights related to data to present a cohesive story of performance over specific periods or campaigns.
  • Lead the vision for utilising cross-platform data to inform optimal content creation and distribution.
  • Collaborate with clients’ internal analytics teams to supplement platform data with other relevant client data.
  • Contribute insights and strategic thinking across content, technology, media, and data areas of the business.
  • Stay informed on platform and content trends, particularly regarding data insights best practices.
  • Utilise social listening tools to monitor brand sentiment, trends, and identify key talking points for creative responses.
  • Ensure continuous innovation across all deliverables.
  • Contribute to the creative process by sharing insights uncovered through analysis.
  • Optimise and develop reporting processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Research and assess technology solutions, processes, and data sources to improve capabilities.
  • Liaise with clients when relevant to communicate performance insights.
  • Present work both internally and externally.

Skills and Previous Experience

  • Relevant experience in a social media analytical role within a digital/creative agency or internally at a consumer-focused brand, either as an analyst or in social media management.
  • Strong understanding of key social media platforms and associated metrics and data points.
  • Preferably experienced in both organic and paid social media, with a priority on organic.
  • Advanced proficiency in reporting across multiple social media platforms including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest.
  • Expertise in social listening platforms such as Pulsar or Brandwatch.
  • High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, comfortable with formulas and manipulating large data sets.
  • An inquisitive and numerical mindset.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of developing social-first creative content.
  • Knowledge of how organic social media supports clients in meeting overall business objectives.
  • Experience in developing bespoke reporting frameworks and new reporting methodologies.
