Overview
Burson, a global leader in communications and part of WPP, is seeking a Social & Content Strategist at Account Director level to join its Corporate Sectors and Public Affairs teams. This role involves working within a global social media team for a leading technology company and supporting other key accounts by creating social-first content across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X. The successful candidate will develop and implement social strategies that align audience behaviour with brand objectives, collaborating closely with creative teams, account leaders, and clients.

Role Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust, data-driven social media and digital engagement strategies through reputational analysis, trend forecasting, and stakeholder/audience mapping, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable KPIs.
- Lead and optimise strategic social platform planning for large-scale campaigns and continuous ‘always-on’ initiatives, defining channel-specific content ecosystems, targeting parameters, and maximising reach and impact.
- Translate performance data, intelligence, and stakeholder sentiment into actionable strategic recommendations to inform creative development, campaign optimisation, and future content planning.
- Present complex strategic frameworks, insights, and plans persuasively to internal stakeholders and external clients, securing buy-in through clear communication and executive presence.
- Leverage tools to anticipate threats and inform strategic pivots that build reputation, strategic relevance, and competitive advantage at the client level.
- Monitor and interpret evolving social media trends, platform changes, and audience behaviour shifts to identify emerging opportunities and keep Burson ahead of the curve.
- Collaborate within a vibrant community of Social & Content contributors based in the London office to grow and innovate the service offering.
Experience and Skills Required
- Seamlessly integrate into the Corporate and Public Affairs team, understanding clients and factors shaping reputation across stakeholders, media, policy, regulation, and issues.
- Collaborate with creative teams to develop concepts and content that authentically connect with target stakeholders, ensuring messaging is reputationally relevant and engaging.
- Create effective content briefs for design teams, develop copy, recommend assets, and oversee digital editorial calendars.
- Proactively monitor social media trends, platform evolutions, and audience behaviour to identify opportunities, anticipate threats, and inform strategic pivots.
- Articulate and present complex strategic frameworks and actionable plans to internal and external audiences with confidence and clarity.
- Manage client communications, lead content development workstreams, update work-in-progress documents and calendars, and coordinate internal communications.
- Oversee social calendar management across multiple regions for a global LinkedIn company page.
