The Role

We are seeking an outstanding Social Creative Director to lead the campaign department during the current Executive Creative Director’s maternity leave, reporting to her upon her return. This senior role will carry the torch for best-in-class creative output, driving social-first campaigns that grow brands from communities upwards. The ideal candidate will be a passionate creative fluent in social and creator-first approaches, with a strong understanding of the broader brand landscape.

This role offers autonomy to lead creative projects and client presentations, create showcase campaigns, and steer the department in the absence of the ECD. The successful candidate will also collaborate with the content team to ensure the ambition and quality of organic output.

The candidate should have at least 8 years’ experience within a creative agency and an inspiring portfolio of conceptualised and delivered campaigns for major brands.

Newgen operates a hybrid working model with a minimum of three days in the office or on shoots, with occasional additional in-person days required for delivery and pitches.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualise and lead social-first campaigns delivering best-in-class creativity designed to transcend platforms
  • Collaborate with the editorial social team to execute campaign creative optimised across channels
  • Educate and upskill junior team members in campaign creative development
  • Work with studio, design and production teams to execute campaigns to the highest standard
  • Present to clients and sell in creative work that is on brand and positively challenges conventions
  • Bring positive and proactive energy to the team, inspiring the agency creatively
  • Lead creative workshop sessions across the agency to foster a strong creative culture
  • Manage and support the current creative team, aiding their professional growth

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a creative agency
  • Impressive portfolio of social-first work
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy and confidence in leading platform work
  • Passion for social and creator-first creative approaches
  • Ability to lead and inspire a creative team
