Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced newsroom Social Media Coordinator with strong content creation and video editing skills. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of social media strategy, trends, social video editing, and influencer collaboration. A proven track record of driving social media growth and engagement across projects is essential. This role requires a proactive individual eager to make a significant impact within our newsroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with social media leads and various teams across the organisation to develop and execute social media plans aimed at meeting goals and increasing brand awareness.
- Work with editorial staff and creators to plan collaborative content for Newsweek’s Instagram accounts.
- Build strategies and create engaging content tailored to each platform, including text, images, and videos.
- Edit social-first videos provided by staff and optimise them for social media platforms.
- Analyse performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of social media campaigns and compile reports with key statistics.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in social media management.
- Ensure all social media content adheres to Newsweek editorial guidelines and brand standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and key changes across applications.
- Perform any other reasonable duties to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements
- Significant experience in growing a social media audience.
- Thorough knowledge of optimising editorial and non-editorial content for social media audiences.
- Strong understanding of Meta Business Suite and other social analytics tools.
- Proficiency in Canva with the ability to create eye-catching and engaging social media graphics and videos.
- Strong background in video editing and producing social-first videos.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting plans and data clearly and effectively.
- Proven track record of productive cross-functional collaboration with teams.
