Overview

Narrative Mastery, a London-based creative consultancy specialising in film production and branding, is seeking a freelance Social Media & Communications Manager to enhance the online presence of Ciao Roma, an independent Italian restaurant located in central Edinburgh.

About the Role

Ciao Roma is renowned for its handmade pasta, award-winning ice cream, and distinctive, quirky interiors. The successful candidate will help bring this unique charm to life on social media through vibrant and engaging content.

• Part-time, freelance position (starting at 1 day per week)
• Must be Edinburgh-based, with weekly visits to the restaurant
• Ideal for individuals passionate about content creation, hospitality, and storytelling

What You’ll Do

• Visit the restaurant weekly to capture short-form video and photographic content
• Create and schedule posts across Instagram and Facebook
• Keep the audience informed about specials, events, and team moments
• Monitor and respond to messages and booking enquiries
• Manage the info@ inbox, forwarding job applications and PR enquiries
• Help maintain a playful, consistent brand tone and visual style

What We’re Looking For

• Resident of Edinburgh with availability for regular visits to the restaurant
• Confident in shooting and editing content (Reels, stories, photos) using a smartphone
• Passionate about food, hospitality, and supporting small businesses
• Detail-oriented, responsive, and self-motivated
• Good eye for design, colour, and tone
• Open to feedback and comfortable collaborating with a Creative Director
