Job Description

Contract: Full-time
Location: London, United Kingdom
Salary: £16/hr
Company: Boneyard London Ltd

Overview

Boneyard London, the UK’s fastest-growing school of blacksmithing and metalwork, is seeking a Social Media & Content Lead to join their London-based team. This primarily in-person role offers the opportunity to lead the organic social media presence across multiple brands during a major expansion phase in 2026. The successful candidate will play a key role in launching new brands, entering new markets, and shaping a distinctive voice at the intersection of craft, culture, and lifestyle.

About Boneyard London

Boneyard London teaches thousands of people annually the craft of forging metal through immersive experience days and hands-on workshops. In 2026, the business is expanding into:

  • Commercial Experience Days – corporate events, team-building, product launches, and TV/online filming
  • Metal Fabrication Services – gates, railings, plasma/laser cutting, and bespoke fabrication
  • Boneyard Grills – a premium, custom BBQ and grill brand launching early 2026

The Role

Working closely with the founders and wider team, the Social Media & Content Lead will define and deliver the social media strategy for 2026 and beyond. Responsibilities include owning organic social across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn, leading content creation from concept to execution, and collaborating with external partners to support paid campaigns. The role requires a hands-on, creative, and strategic approach, with confidence both behind and occasionally in front of the camera.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Strategy
    • Own the organic social media strategy across Boneyard London, Boneyard Grills, and Boneyard Fabrication
    • Build and manage content calendars aligned with brand goals
    • Develop influencer, collaboration, and partnership initiatives where relevant
  • Content Creation
    • Produce engaging, high-quality content across formats including reels, stories, carousels, and short-form video
    • Capture content across workshops, events, fabrication projects, and brand launches
    • Maintain a strong, consistent visual and editorial style
  • Scheduling & Publishing
    • Manage scheduling and posting to maximise reach and engagement
    • Ensure content flows smoothly from ideation to publication
  • Performance & Optimisation
    • Track performance using native platform insights
    • Analyse effectiveness and refine strategy accordingly
    • Continuously test, iterate, and optimise content and approach
  • Trends & Market Awareness
    • Stay ahead of social trends, platform updates, and emerging formats
    • Monitor competitors and wider market activity to keep Boneyard ahead of the curve
  • Copywriting & Brand Voice
    • Write compelling, on-brand copy across posts, stories, campaigns, and direct messages
    • Help define and evolve “The Boneyard Voice” across platforms
  • Third-Party Management
    • Lead influencer campaigns and brand collaborations
    • Coordinate with external partners as required

Person Specification

  • Comfortable on camera with confidence in filming, being filmed, and delivering authentic content
  • Proven social media experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating measurable results
  • Strong videography and photography skills, particularly short-form video for Instagram and TikTok
  • Editing expertise using tools such as CapCut, Canva, Final Cut Pro or similar
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills; detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
  • Creative and proactive, able to work from briefs and independently generate original ideas

Application Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate a deep passion for social media and be ahead of trends rather than following them. Please provide examples showing:

  • How you have built or scaled a brand (personal or commercial)
  • The strategy behind your work, not just the output
  • The results achieved and lessons learned
  • Examples of adapting to challenges and maintaining momentum

We value curiosity, honesty, and consistency alongside professional polish.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to join a fast-growing brand in a thriving lifestyle sector
  • Hands-on role shaping brand identity and driving commercial growth
  • Chance to help launch a premium BBQ and grills brand in 2026
  • Creative freedom within a collaborative and ambitious environment
  • Primarily in-person role with some flexibility for remote work
  • Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses linked to agreed KPIs
  • Opportunities for travel to events, launches, and industry locations
  • Clear potential for role and team growth as the business expands

Additional Information

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been increased interest in stepping away from screens, engaging in hands-on activities, and reclaiming time. Boneyard London enables this lifestyle and is poised for significant growth.
