Overview
Football.com is seeking a Social Media Manager to build and scale its global social presence. Football.com is an emerging football platform focused on live scores, football data and fan insights, aiming to become a global football data authority by transforming statistics, rankings and insights into shareable stories and fan conversations. This role positions social media as a core product growth engine, requiring collaboration across Product, Marketing, Design, Content and Data teams to develop engaging, social-native football content that drives awareness and discovery.
Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy & Editorial Direction- Define and execute the global social media strategy for Football.com.
- Position Football.com as a trusted football insights brand by transforming football data into engaging narratives.
- Own the social calendar around major football moments including:
- Champions League
- Premier League
- LaLiga
- International tournaments
- Transfer windows
- Key football storylines
- Develop repeatable content formats that scale across platforms and become recognisable Football.com series.
- Create and publish content across key platforms including:
- TikTok
- X
- YouTube Shorts
- Focus on social-native football formats such as:
- Player comparisons
- Rankings and debates
- Predictive content
- Fan voting mechanics
- Controversial insights and narratives
- Ensure Football.com content is fast, relevant, insightful and highly shareable.
- Build and nurture conversations with football fans across platforms.

Person Specification
- 3–6+ years experience in social media, ideally within football, sports media or sports content.
- Deep knowledge of football culture and fan behaviour, including how debates and narratives emerge online.
- Strong editorial instincts with ability to translate football insights into engaging content.
- Excellent platform instincts across:

- X
- YouTube Shorts
- Strong understanding of what makes football content shareable and conversation-driven.
- Comfortable using analytics and performance data to guide decisions.
- Ability to move quickly and produce high-impact content in a fast-paced environment.
