Role Description
This is a freelance Social Media Manager role supporting the ongoing growth of Social Media Board’s digital presence. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, working closely with the founder to manage, publish, and optimise content across key social channels.
You will be responsible for day-to-day social media activity, with a particular focus on LinkedIn and supporting platforms where job seekers and recruiters are active. The role centres on distributing job content, platform updates, and insight-led posts in a clear, consistent, and professional tone.
This is a freelance engagement with flexibility around hours, ideal for someone who understands social-first distribution, audience relevance, and performance-driven organic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and publish content across Social Media Board’s social channels, primarily LinkedIn.
- Schedule daily and weekly job-related posts in line with platform activity and audience behaviour.
- Write and refine captions that are clear, accurate, and aligned with the Social Media Board brand voice.
- Support distribution of curated job listings, platform updates, and recruitment insights.
- Maintain a structured content calendar focused on consistency rather than volume.
- Monitor engagement, comments, and messages, escalating relevant conversations where needed.
- Track post-level performance and identify patterns around reach, engagement, and saves.
- Spot trends in social media hiring, job content formats, and platform behaviour to inform posting strategy.
- Work closely with the founder to refine what content performs best and iterate quickly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for a brand, platform, or community.
- Strong understanding of LinkedIn as a primary growth and engagement channel.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to simplify job-related content.
- Experience scheduling and managing content using social media management tools.
- Comfortable analysing basic social metrics and using insights to improve performance.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage content independently.
- Familiarity with recruitment, job boards, or professional audiences is a strong advantage.
- Previous freelance or contract experience is preferred.
