Overview
This role leads the day-to-day and strategic social media output for Marie Curie, managing content, campaigns and community engagement across multiple national and regional channels. You’ll play a central role in bringing the charity’s mission, brand and services to life online, supporting major national campaigns such as the Great Daffodil Appeal and the Nobody Should Die in Poverty campaign. The position oversees content creation, scheduling, paid optimisation and stakeholder collaboration, with responsibility for maintaining a strong, coherent and compassionate presence across all social platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Manage daily content and publishing across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and additional platforms with a combined audience of nearly 800,000.
- Develop social strategy for key campaigns including the Great Daffodil Appeal, National Day of Reflection and wider brand initiatives.
- Plan, brief and produce content in collaboration with PR, Creative and wider communications teams.
- Lead the organic and paid social approach, manage budgets and liaise with external agencies to optimise performance.
- Develop and implement a regional social media strategy, ensuring local content aligns with national brand activity.
- Oversee community engagement, reputation management and reactive content needs.
- Use analytics tools to interpret performance, report insights, and drive continuous optimisation across channels.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across devolved nations, supporting consistency and alignment while enabling local activity.
About You
- Experienced social media professional with deep knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Track record of developing social-first content and managing high-performing channels.
- Proven ability to grow online communities and improve engagement through data-led decision making.
- Experience in developing and delivering full social strategies, content calendars and campaign plans.
- Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, including regional teams and senior colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple streams of content and campaign activity.
- Sound judgement, a collaborative mindset and the ability to represent a sensitive, mission-driven organisation online.
Contract & Details
- 6-month contract
- Salary: £36,900 – £41,000
- Hybrid: Home-based with regular travel to the London office
