Job Description

Contract: Full-time
Location: City of London, United Kingdom
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000
Company: SUMO
Recruiter: Sam Eccleston

Overview

A fast-growing digital publisher is looking for a Social Strategist to lead social growth, shape video-first storytelling, and drive multi-platform impact. This role is focused entirely on social performance, with a strong emphasis on scaling audiences, communities, and revenue through high-performing content. This position is ideal for someone who deeply understands TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms, and knows how to turn real stories into content that travels at scale. You will play a central role in building and optimising a fast-moving content operation that reaches millions each month.

The Role

You will own the end-to-end social strategy across all major platforms, with a clear focus on video-led formats. Working closely with editors, creators, and partnerships teams, you will help deliver both organic and branded content while supporting the launch of new content verticals. This is a hands-on, growth-driven role where performance, experimentation, and speed matter. You will use insights, trends, and data to continuously refine output and ensure social channels drive measurable impact across audience growth, engagement, and monetisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute social strategy across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Drive growth across audience size, engagement, community development, and revenue.
  • Develop and manage a high-volume, video-first content plan.
  • Guide editors and creators on platform-native formats, storytelling, and best practice.
  • Monitor trends, insights, and performance data to optimise content output.
  • Support the launch and scaling of new social channels and content verticals.
  • Collaborate with partnerships teams on revenue-driving creative executions.
  • Work closely with creators, talent, and internal stakeholders to align strategy and execution.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience scaling social channels for a content-led brand, digital publisher, or creator-first platform.
  • Strong understanding of short-form and long-form video formats, including TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and YouTube.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and act on trends before they peak.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into growth strategies.
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting monetisation through social content.
  • Strong creative instincts with a deep understanding of internet culture and platform behaviour.

Why This Role

This is an opportunity to play a key role in building and scaling a multi-channel media brand, shaping how stories are told and distributed across social platforms. If you are motivated by growth, experimentation, and the challenge of scaling content at pace, this role offers both impact and ownership.
