About the Role

The Social Strategy Lead will own and develop WillPowders’ social media and community strategy. This strategic position involves setting direction, defining standards and leading social media as a core brand and growth channel. The role works closely with the Social Media Manager and community-focused teams responsible for content creation, scheduling, execution and frontline engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social & Community Strategy
    • Develop and implement a clear social and community strategy aligned with brand and business objectives
    • Define channel roles, content pillars and audience strategy across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and emerging platforms
    • Ensure social activity supports launches, campaigns, commercial moments and brand storytelling
    • Act as the senior owner of social within the marketing function
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Work closely with PR, performance marketing and events teams to ensure joined-up execution
    • Brief designers, creators and freelancers where required
  • Content Direction & Oversight
    • Set content strategy and creative standards across social channels
    • Contribute to ideation and messaging where needed, without being solely responsible for execution
    • Use community insight and feedback to inform content, education and product storytelling
  • Performance, Insight & Optimisation
    • Define relevant KPIs across engagement, growth, sentiment and contribution to wider marketing goals
    • Analyse performance data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement
    • Report insights and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading social media for a consumer brand (B2C essential)
  • Proven experience owning social and community strategy, not just execution
  • Strong understanding of brand voice, community building and audience engagement
  • Confidence working with performance data and translating insight into action
  • Excellent written communication and sound judgement

Desirable

  • Experience within wellness, health, lifestyle or mission-led brands
  • Experience working in a fast-growth or founder-led business
